Avalign is seeking a Metals/Adhesives - Coater to join our Avalign Thortex location. This Coater will spray coat medical implant devices in preparation for sintering heat treatment, using established procedures, to meet engineering and customer specifications, will hand-coat parts using the spatulation method as required, and inspect coated parts for acceptability with customer requirements.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Learn to review documentation (Job Travelers) to verify part identity, quantities, and coating (e.g. binder and bead mesh size) requirements.
  • Learn to prepare binder solutions as detailed in applicable Standard Process Instructions (SPIs):
  • Learn to visually inspect parts to ensure that they meet customer requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow SPIs and MPIs pertaining to the porous coating of medical implant devices.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Become proficient at producing product within cycle times.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports when products do not meet specifications.

What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use job related measuring devices (e.g. calipers and balances).
  • Ability to use, or be trained to use, comparator for overlay inspection of parts.
  • Good hand/eye coordination
