INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST

Under general direction conduct inventory processes to ensure accuracy and availability of containers.  Audit and maintain adequate levels through the purchase of new stock and relocation of existing inventory.   Contribute to the development of new technology and procedures.
 
The work location for this role is flexible if approved by UniGroup except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain container inventory across all agencies
  • Generate inventory needs reports and review; analyze reports to determine inventory needs and next steps
  • Analyze trends in inventory needs to improve re-positioning
  • Develop and maintain inventory planning assumptions based on volume and capacity
  • Re-position containers to maintain agency inventory threshold levels
  • Determine and execute plan to meet inventory demands
  • Optimize inventory systems, reports, and procedures
  • Collaborate with IT and Data Analytics to identify process improvements
  • Measure, monitor, and report on key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators
  • Track purchases of containers and equipment, as well as re-positioning costs
  • Prepare necessary financial statements
  • Identify areas for improvement, development, and execution
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned. 

Education, License or Certification:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in transportation/logistics
