The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the management and executive teams with strategic, operational and financial analysis, planning and forecasting. The ability to report, analyze and present information with clear summaries and understanding. This position will require regular interaction with team members and management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES 

  • Responsible for the maintenance, consolidation and reporting of teams’ capacity and financial models;
  • Perform client and company profitability analysis to identify improvement opportunities in areas such as pricing, cost reduction, productivity and standardization improvement, and technology solutions;
  • Analyze actual versus budget financial performance to identify root cause and improvement opportunities;
  • Support the maintenance of the company financial planning and forecasting model;
  • Redesign and streamline company’s client pricing model to reflect key activity-based costing factors;
  • Perform capital budgeting analysis to support management decision making, including cost/benefit, payback/ROI, and post-implementation tracking;
  • Analyze and support initiatives to grow business including home office space expansion, new office expansion, new business line expansion, and M&A opportunities;
  • Analyze market developments and competitor trends to support management planning and decision making;
  • Serve as a liaison and develop a results-oriented partnership among client teams, client support teams, and corporate teams including Finance, IT, Marketing and HR;
  • Own the design, development and maintenance of ongoing reports, analyses and metrics to support key business decisions;
  • Analyze specific operational questions and then work with operating managers to implement change;
  • Provide analysis and support for special projects or business initiatives as required;
  • Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities and;

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgement in selecting and interpreting information;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude to understand the business and maintain strong client relationships; 
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of work quality and professional in the performance of duties; 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work;
  • Sound computer and technical skills, including the use of MS Office Suite and other systems as applicable;
  • Demonstrate sound research, interpretive and problem-solving abilities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • 0 – 2 years’ (relevant) experience in Finance, Economics or related field preferred; 
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related field;
  • Advanced degree (MBA) in Finance or related field strongly preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience including lookup functions, pivot tables and macros. Strong experience with other Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Word);
  • Demonstrated ability to extract, link, format and utilize data from company accounting, operations, and marketing software systems is required; 
  • Excellent analytical, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills required;
  • Ability to make insightful recommendations by analyzing opportunities and their impact on the business;
  • Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning and problem-solving skills required;
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
