The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for facilitation and coordination of Ultimus’s formal technical and development training programs. This role will be responsible for coordinating new hire onboarding, training schedules, track necessary employee trainings and certifications, develop materials, along with the delivery of trainings.  


  • Design, develop, update and deliver professional quality presentations and training materials to include quick reference guides, online learning resources, PowerPoint presentations and other training materials; 
  • Through surveys, evaluate the effectiveness of training activities and regularly monitor and provide recommendations for continued improvement; 
  • Responsible for coordinating the organization’s High Potential Employee Program (HIPO), Valuing Individual Performance (VIP) and spearheading the organization’s technical training program;  
  • Responsible for assisting with the organization’s new employee onboarding, including the development of customized new employee training plans;  
  • Responsible for assisting with monthly new hire engagement training; 
  • Develop, implement and maintain the organization’s annual training calendar;   
  • Develop strong relationships with all Ultimus Management;  
  • Maintain employee training records, including employee CPA and other certification tracking; 
  • Ability to multi-task between different tasks and internal demands throughout the day; 
  • Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management. 


  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat Adobe, and Outlook; 
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment independently or as a team; 
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and effectively meet deadlines; 
  • Must have a high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills with good organizational, time management, setting prioritizes and analytical skills.
  • Most possess excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to maintain strong intercompany relationships; 
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of professionalism in the performance of duties and; 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work. 


  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Training or similar background preferred; 
  • Minimum of an Associate’s in Communication, Human Resources or similar preferred; 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Work and Excel;
  • Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning and problem-solving skills required;
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines. 


  • At times, as business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs and;
