We are recruiting for a benefits manager to work out of our corporate office in Cleveland. This position is responsible for analyzing and creating benefit and wellness programs, educating employees on benefit options, ensuring benefit compliance, and integrating future acquired company benefit plans. You will be a critical team member and part of the HR team and will report to the Vice President of HR.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR BENEFITS MANAGER:
Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned:
Collaborate with VPHR to develop a benefits strategy, including implementing new plans and modifying existing plans
aligned with SCA’s business objectives and strategies. Analyze and evaluate benefit program trends and
prevailing practices among similar organizations. Review services, coverage and options available through insurance and investment companies to
determine programs that best meet the needs of the organization. Monitor and report to VPHR on current
performance and ROI of benefit programs. Partner with HR and Finance to model trends and
develop total rewards that reflect competitiveness within the markets and industry.
Oversee the day to day operational activities
for medical, dental, vision, HSA, AD&D, STD, LTD, voluntary benefits,
401k, leaves, wellness and ancillary benefit plans. Lead regulatory filing activities (e.g, 5500 preparations) with vendor and broker partners. Use data to monitor trends and recommend educational initiatives, benefit plan changes, vendor changes,
cost-sharing etc. Lead the year-end open enrollment process, including collaboration with brokers, vendors, third-party administrators.
Collaborate with vendors and Payroll on design and implementation of online enrollment portal and process. Document and maintain administrative procedures (SOPs) for benefits processes. Establish effective benefit program audit practices and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations (IRS, Department of Labor, ERISA, state leave laws).
Interpret plan documents, administrative rules governing plans and government regulations that affect program rules and
operations. Monitor HRIS/payroll system data integrity, including data feeds to vendor systems. Work with HRIS vendor to set up data feeds when appropriate.
Other projects as needed in support of our business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF OUR BENEFITS MANAGER:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent preferred, which is typically obtained through 8 or more years of human resource management level experience. Five years of experience in Benefit Administration.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to benefits
Experience with multi-state benefit plans.
Demonstrated ability to be highly customer-service oriented, with the ability to professionally always interact with all levels of individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
Energetic and focused personality with
a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize
multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Professional, articulate, and able to use
good independent judgment and discretion.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to create and collaborate with others
on articulate, well thought out presentation and employee materials to
effectively communicate benefit details and changes in a reassuring,
professional and positive manner.
Spanish is a plus.
