St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for an experienced Director of Reimbursement (MDS). The Director is responsible for the operations, overall performance of MDS Reimbursement Department and oversight in each facility. Within this position, there is also a unique opportunity to showcase your knowledge and give solid advice in your field of expertise.   You will be responsible for analyzing situations to external constituents and providing a fresh perspective.

Job Description:

  • Ensures all MDS Coordinators are educated to the current standards of practice to guarantee procedures are correctly followed and polices are up to date
  • Maximize reimbursement opportunities as a result of the MDS, Medicare, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Plans
  • Interprets and explains system policies, procedures, objectives, operations, services, organization and budget
  • In partnership with the, Manager of Reimbursement review performance appraisals for all MDS Coordinators
  • Plays an active role in the Quality Management/Improvement processes of the community.
  • Able to manage projects-plans to measure progress, identify barriers, intervene and complete on target
  • Makes periodic reports to the Sr. VP/Administrator, and Chief Nursing Executive
  • Encourages open communication regarding the reporting of potential non-compliance concerns
  • Works with all disciplines to ensure accurate MDS/CAAs completion as it relates to QM/QI’s
    • Undertake long/short term projects to address a variety of issues and needs
    • Conduct extensive analysis to solve a variety of issues and needs
    • Present findings to appropriate executives and provide suggestions for improvement
    • Arrange and provide training to affected parties
    • Formulate plans to implement recommendations

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Requires Current RN License, BSN preferred
  • Requires AANAC MDS 3.0 certification
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years MDS completion experience
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working within prospective payment systems for MDS and Restorative Nursing reimbursements
  • Requires three (3) to five (5) years of progressive management
  • Certification in FIMS preferred
  • Certification in consulting or field of expertise preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare skilled care guidelines/PDPM
  • Project management experience preferred
