Dining Room - Captain
Oversees the Dining Room meal service. Maintains standards of service and oversees the upkeep of the dining room environment. Assists Dining Services Manager with complete operation of Dining Room functions and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors residents’ attendance during all Dining Room meal service times. Maintains Dining Room Service log.
Greets residents entering the Dining Room, while remaining in the Dining Room throughout meal periods. Obtains and documents residents feedback for meal period.
Initiates emergency procedure for residents requiring medical attention.
Checks the set-up and operation of the Dining Room, assures daily work is assigned including station assignments. Ensures completion of cleaning assignments. Promotes teamwork with staff. Communicates information to Dining Services Manager.
Maintains highest standards of service in an orderly and safe environment. Communicates with Dining Services Manager, any non-compliance of standards by staff.
During meal service, assists servers as needed to ensure timely service.
Reports any malfunction of equipment to Food Service Manager. Completes appropriate work orders for equipment and Dining Room environment.
Maintains a clean and pleasant atmosphere in the Dining Room.
Assists with the completion of any assigned inventories on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1-2 years of previous wait staff experience required.
