Position Summary:

 

Janney’s Wealth Management group consists of key business areas that deliver high quality investment solutions and services to Janney’s 850+ financial advisors in the Private Client group.

 

The Advisory Programs Manager role falls within the Advisory Solutions business area in Janney Wealth Management. A successful Programs Manager will be responsible for building and managing Janney’s suite of fee-based solutions, with a dedicated focus on identifying & implementing strategic initiatives for the advisory platform. They will exhibit a solid knowledge of the investment advisory business, and leverage strong critical thinking skills, enthusiasm, integrity and proactive client service to drive results. 

 

Working with the Director of Advisory Programs, the Advisory Programs Manager will study the advisory industry, competitive landscapes & new investment trends and technologies to enhance the advisor & client experience. Using this knowledge, they will be responsible for building a roadmap of initiatives and own the end-to-end implementation through various phases such as – solution or technology evaluation, contract management, business requirement documentation, providing advisory subject matter expertise, firm-wide marketing & training of the new solution or service to our advisors. The Advisory Program Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams from other areas of Wealth Management, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, Information Technology and Sales/Consulting. This will be a high visibility position with responsibilities that require frequent interactions with the firms top financial advisors. Additional responsibilities will include program education & marketing, problem resolution, reporting and tracking metrics.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify market trends and dynamics; anticipate emerging needs and opportunities; assess risks and rewards of new business opportunities to further strengthen the Advisory Platform.
  • Own end-to-end implementation of strategic engagements related to the firm’s investment advisory strategy.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for investment advisory program parameters, features, integrated technology and strategic program enhancements.
  • Offer consultative support to Janney’s financial advisors Primary point of contact to Private Client Group (PCG), Operations, and vendors for all inquiries related to investment advisory programs.
  • Own relationships with 3rd party asset managers on the platform & manage onboarding processes & inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other areas of Janney to develop and promote cross-selling opportunities and remain current on regulatory topics, banking products, and industry trends.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Demonstrate high level of professional integrity and ethical standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience within the financial services industry.
  • Project Management experience is preferred, ideally with demonstrated success in managing long-term strategic projects.
  • Previous experience in the investment advisory business preferred.
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses desired or ability to pass exams within 9 months.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with high level of initiative, attention to detail, ability to multi-task & prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
