SUMMARY
Production Supervisor is responsible for overall management and oversight of the daily production operations and employees.  Production Supervisor must manage policy deployment in areas of Lean Manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, visual controls and plant performance measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading by example
  • Assure adherence to production protocols
  • Manage overall product flow between all departments
  • Assure production meets all required production timelines for both custom fabrication and standard products
  • Assure quality in all manufacturing processes and final product
  • Implement and manage lean manufacturing practices
  • Manage benchmarks and quality standards for departmental and plant performance
  • Oversight of staff to assure maximal utilization of resources
  • Encourage process improvement initiatives to enhance quality and cost effectiveness
  • Work with employees to utilize existing skills and to develop new skills to ensure a highly competent and motivated workforce
  • Management of product inventory and raw material
  • Enforce compliance with all applicable corporate policies and procedures including individual employee awareness of responsibility and accountability
  • Implement employee training programs
  • Oversight of production of new product development
  • Enforces and oversees Gate Precast Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Performs additional duties as requested or required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.  Exposure to heat, humidity, cold, sand, and dust.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Precast/construction experience preferred
