BASIC PURPOSE: 
The purpose of the Clinical Specialist is to enhance company growth through the provision of clinical and professional knowledge and support to travelers, client contacts, and in-house employees.  The Clinical Specialist RN works per diem during times of high volume surges in order to place healthcare professionals to our client facilities. 

This position requires substantial knowledge of clinical nursing in acute care facilities and provide provide exceptional customer service.  The Clinical Specialist RN will be self-motivated, customer service focused and results driven.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:    
Perform ongoing IVS processes in a support/floater role 
Review employment applications and interviews applicants while evaluating work history, skills, education and training, as well as other qualifications 
Matches job applicants to appropriate positions, redirecting, when necessary to more appropriate clinical positions and conducts interviews 
Informs applicant of job duties and responsibilities, working conditions, schedules, policies, and other necessary hospital specific information via unit descriptions
Troubleshoots all clinically related applicant questions, seeking assistance from aligned IVS Manager, as necessary 
Upon agreement, and clinical assessment, offers position specific to hospital, unit, shift and start date 
Communicates in a timely manner with all recruiters and account managers, as to applicant’s placement or declination of positions 
Thorough documentation of interview, maintains accurate record keeping, utilizing CCS’s current systems 
Follow Interview Service process and meet Service Level Agreements i.e.: Review and call within 24 hours 
Reports issues/ concerns, as well as recommendations for improvement, to immediate supervisor  
Work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of HCPs and HCFs interview service needs 
Uses in-depth clinical knowledge, professional judgment, and good business-based decision-making skills 
Refers potential risk management incidents/issues as needed 
Provides in-house employees with ongoing clinical and professional education based on the identified needs of an individual or group    
Reviews and updates IVS unit descriptions as directed, or with known facility changes   
Represent and support the business initiatives of Cross Country Healthcare internally and externally 
Other duties as assigned 

 QUALIFICATIONS:/SKLLS
Minimum 5 years’ experience required. 
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with active, clear, unencumbered license 
Minimum 3 years’ experience in acute care clinical setting or non-acute care setting, preferable in management, Talent Acquisition, recruitment position or quality assurance file reviews
Former acute care experience
