GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 
Under the supervision of the Division Manager and supervisor to help oversee and supervise routine custodial activities and staff. This position is responsible for the leadership and work duties of custodians in their assigned work areas. 
 
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
 
This position exercises supervision over lower level staff within their span of control.
 
IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
 
Oversees custodial staff, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
 
Ensures coverage during vacation, holidays, or illness.
 
Responsible for division custodial services in the absence of custodial manager and supervisor.
 
Assist in feedback of custodial staff and provide recommendations to the custodial services supervisor.
 
Routinely inspect all custodial work areas and address any complaints and concerns.
 
Conduct and manage safety measures. 
 
Conduct and oversee daily crew duties. 
 
Lead and participate in work assignments.
 

OTHER JOB RELATED DUTIES
 
Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
Knowledge of:
           
Safety practice and procedures.
 
Buildings assigned to them.
 
Mail courier services operations.
 

Skill to:
           
Operate all custodial equipment including vacuum cleaner, carpet machine and buffer.
 
Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers in all circumstances and potentially stressful situations.
 

Operate the postage machine.
 

Ability to:
                       
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, both internally and externally.

Experience and Training Guidelines:
 
Any combination equivalent to experience and training to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.  Knowledge, skills, and abilities may be obtained through:
 
Experience:
           
Knowledge of the immediate facilities being cleaned.
 
Education/Training:
           
A high school diploma or GED is required.
           
License or Certificate:
           
A valid Texas driver’s license; the ability to obtain one within ninety (90) days, or a military waiver is required 
 
Special Requirements:
 
Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
 
With or without accommodation, ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
 
Pass a comprehensive Federal background check.
 

Ability to travel to different job sites.
