CLINICAL BILLING SPECIALIST - JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBLE TO:Revenue Cycle Administrator
FUNCTION: Ensures the collection of reimbursement of revenues in the shortest period possible. Serves as primary liaison between the Agency and payers to ensure that all claims for services rendered are reimbursed per contractual agreements and received in a timely manner.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated experience in medical billing and knowledge of medical terminology. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and recordkeeping skills; excellent time management skills, including willingness and ability to manage and complete multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner; strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well and communicate effectively with others both within and outside of the department and organization; Knowledge of and/or ability to use computer software necessary to carry out assigned duties, including but not limited to Excel, Word and applicable financial and billing software. Physical condition or reasonable accommodation(s) commensurate with the demands of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field; OR Associate’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field and two (2) years of demonstrated clinical billing experience; OR High School/GED plus four (4) years of demonstrated experience.
