As a member of the compliance team, The EH&S Coordinator position will assist in the development, implementation and sustainment of EHS programs to ensure the safety of all team members, visitors and contractors; protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all global and local regulations for our multiple locations. The EHS Coordinator will assist in driving a behavior-based safety culture characterized by accountability, commitment and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment and grow our “Safety First Culture” 
  • Have knowledge or willingness to learn safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures 
  • Ability to perform safety, environmental, or occupational health inspections for compliance with established policies to identify potential new hazards 
  • Review and become familiar with applicable EHS Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions and functional documents/operational guidelines 
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports 
  • Change, improve and create (where required) Standard Operating Procedures to align with the applicable EHS 
  • Collaborate with departmental personnel to understand procedures, gather information, analyze procedures, address issues, resolve problems and implement change 
  • Procure and complete documentation required for any changes/improvements per functional/departmental requirements (change control, procedure updates, document changes, etc.) 
  • Consolidate (as applicable) SOP content to minimize/eliminate redundant information 
  • Communicate roadblocks/issues immediately to team lead 
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned by supervision 

Skills and Knowledge 


Qualifications include: 

  • OSHA, EPA knowledge 
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of organization 
  • Experience with creating and communicating EHS materials and training 
  • Proven self-starter with ability to lead 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients & customers 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software 

Education and Experience 

  •  High School or equivalent (Required) or any appropriate combination of education and experience 
  • Administrative:
  • 2 years (Preferred) 
  • EHS: 2 years (Preferred)  

Work Environment 

  •  Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. 
  • Work is primarily indoors, but may require occasional activity in an outdoor environment  
  • Performing duties outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is required. 
  • Will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby communications  

Physical requirements 

  •  Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time 
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents. 
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in hand-written forms, and printed on paper 
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone 
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
