The GBS Procurement Analyst supports Aquent’s Global Shared Service financial and external vendor contracting needs. Global shared services encompass information Technology and business operations services. The Manager is accountable for building and nurturing theGBS finance and vendor partner ecosystem in driving the building of budgets and overseeing the external spending against the budget. This involves an understanding of budgeting and cost management practices, an understanding of market options, sourcing and assessing suppliers, leading RFP activities, negotiating agreements, securing contractual approval, and monitoring / analyzing compliance Global shared services encompass information Technology and business operations services.

Industry Knowledge, Networking and Subject Matter Expertise

  • IT experience with Product and Services Cost Modeling. (.i.e. network, cloud, professional services, hardware, software, telecommunications).

  • Experience with all aspects of the IT sourcing process, including market research, assessment, RFP development and review, outsourcing contract terms, negotiating, contract development, implementation, and spend analytics.

  • Exposure to operating in a global IT function with matrix reporting relationships.

  • Hands-on experience managing financials and reporting in BI tools like Tableau or excitement to learn

  • Attend local networking events relevant to industry (marketing and design).

  • Leverage social media and technology in general to foster networking in remote geographies.

Duties/Responsibilities/Primary Function

  • Provide contract and vendor management support for technical categories, across multiple programs and areas of the business, including network services, cloud providers (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), IT professional services, managed service providers (applications, security, support desk), hardware, software, and telecommunications.

  • Lead negotiations and contract process (define roles, determine strategy, analyze responses, guide discussions) for optimal terms and performance management.

  • Construct sourcing and negotiations strategies and build internal consensus from an enterprise perspective.

  • Draft contract language with legal to ensure supplier performance and optimal terms in Master services agreements and statements of work.

  • Develop subject matter expertise for market offerings and key suppliers to increase efficiency, value, and competitiveness.

  • Ensure Business Operations process and standards are communicated well and leveraged by the entire shared services and technology departments,

  • Provide oversight and transparency into the purchasing process, ensuring all purchases meet budget and are in line with overall departmental and organizational goals,

  • Draft and lead RFP processes or targeted negotiations. Analyze responses and summarize findings.

  • Successfully lead, manage, and negotiate IT-centric contractual arrangements with limited leverage.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders including center-of-excellence leaders (legal, compliance, others).

  • Coordinate between business partners and legal to drive agreement on the scope and terms of business arrangements and ensure that contract language reflects an accurate understanding of that agreement.

  • Organize supplier site visits and meetings, as needed. Support supplier rating and selection process.

  • Measure and track performance and contractual compliance related to services, SLAs, spending, and other commitments.

  • Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for savings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

  • Ability to work independently and function well under pressure in a high-paced and at times stressful environment, with excellent organizational and time management skills, prioritizing tasks and delegating them when appropriate, to demonstrate excellence to meet objectives and deadlines.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum ten (10) years in Information Technology Implementations and Support; demonstrated technology and business acumen.


  • Associate Degree with an additional two (2) years IT systems support plus the ten (10) years (for a total of 12 years) system implementation and support of applications considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.


  • High School diploma/GED with an additional five (5) years IT systems support plus the ten (10) years (for a total of 15 years) system implementation and support of applications considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum five (5) years leadership experience as a team/project lead, supervisor, manager or above.

  • Minimum four (4) years managing team(s) responsible for asset management, procurement, finance, or other related functions.

  • FP&A experience with the Information Technology division managing large and complex technology budgets.

  • Experience with TCO, ROI, and strategic cost management in a large global corporation.

  • Demonstrated achievement in delivering procurement strategies that are value-added, risk-tolerant, and aligned with organization objectives.

  • Experienced in technical project management and / or leadership skills including the ability to plan, organize, and control activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer of up to 8 hours per day.

  • Must be able to lift to fifteen pounds at times.

  • Must be able and willing to travel. (Clients, team meetups, local office)
    The role is considered remote and can be supported from a number of locations that cover standard US working time zones. There will be cases where in person team meetings or attending conferences would be required.
